VALUES

The Foundation’s projects are people-centred and strive to achieve excellence through a variety of charitable community-oriented programmes that enhance individual, community, and social life. The Foundation is committed to acting in an ethical, holistic and transparent manner, and subscribes fully to the notions that all people must be treated with respect and dignity and that people and organizations should work together to achieve common goals.

The meaning of "holistic"
The term "holistic" is derived from the Greek word "holos", meaning “whole", so holistic therapies treat the "whole person" rather than just the problem. Increasingly combining the best of "traditional" and holistic approaches, resulting in a blended approach that defies categorization. That said holistic therapies have three common characteristics, listed below.
  • Firstly, holistic treatments are focussed on self-healing. The children are led to understand that given the right environment, they can “heal/improve” themselves. The holistic method provides the necessary knowledge and conditions for this to happen.

  • Secondly, holistic therapy concentrates on treating the underlying root causes of the problem, not just the symptoms the children experience.

  • Thirdly, the holistic approach treats the mind and body as tightly interconnected systems with each affecting the other. This is taken for granted in everyday life, but a practical consequence is that even if the child has not recognized the underlying psychological causes of (for example) stress, they can still benefit from the physical effects of physical touch.
In conclusion, holistic practices represent empowerment for the children.

OUR VISION

The Earth's Call Foundation’s vision is to provide a platform for local and international businesses to join forces to create sustainable solutions towards the development of a better skilled future generation and addressing environmental challenges and creating sustainable long-term environmental solutions. By uplifting the rural schools, the organization has taken initial steps down a long road, at the end of which they believe that all who are involved in our projects will benefit.

MISSION

The mission of the Foundation is to consolidate charitable resources through a structured programme, in order to offer solutions to problems and to overcome deficits in community and human resource development, through interventions that achieve positive outcomes, with a high level of accountability. Although the Foundation’s projects are focused initially on schools and learners, the Foundation is aimed at benefiting communities as a whole.

We aim to release these youth as equipped, educated and driven conservationist, civil servants and leaders of the next generation. Through these processes, we will generate and increase community employment, both directly and through income generating opportunities.
